I agree. Contact the local police department or talk to neighbors to get the big picture. Once in a while there is an anomaly and the local police department and people actually living in the area are the ones to give you the real picture.

Crime can occur in any neighborhood so you may want to look for features that may help deter crime.
In complexes, security gates and security entries, lighted areas, close parking etc. And once you move into your desired neighborhood, you can be a part of your city's neighborhood watch to keep your community safe.

Best wishes and hope to see you in the neighborhood! If you are thinking of buying or selling in the area, please feel free to give me a call.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.
