I believe the average American BUYS five houses in their lifetime. First time home then the family grows and you need a bigger home then the trophy home cause your secure in your jobs kids are older and its time to entertain then the vacation home then your retirement home.

The average is approx. 2 or 3.

1st - starter home
2nd - growing family
3rd - downsize as empty nesters or relo retirement community.
