"South of Market is a huge district, sprawling from the Embarcadero to Eleventh Street, between Market and Townsend." South of Market (SOMA) is evolving to be the 'high tech' part of the city. Next to Mission Bay with pharmaceutical companies and the new UCSF medical hospital will bring new life in this area. There are many condominium towers and industrial 'New York style' lofts being planned in this area. SOMA is also known for it's artistic vibrant life, it's small industries and it's night life! The new AT&T ball park and the Willie Mays Plaza located on the Bay at 3rd and King Street had their openings in 2000.

I think of tech companies, design/art centers, museums, and the ballpark.
