What are the restrictions / conditions as a non-citizen / European about tax-guarantee? If you stay 1-3

Asked by Karin, 95816 Wed Feb 18, 2009

months twice a year do you need an extra Visa then as an European for going to you own property? We want to buy a property in Sac and looking at short sales and foreclosures for ourselves; is there a good site about the procedures and the legal things?
Thanks a lot. Karin

Hi Karin,

I did some searching around and found some sites that might be of interest to you. Dual citizenship is certainly a possibility---but you'll want to be educated on all the tax laws that might apply. After you've done your research, and before you start looking at properties, I would consult with a tax professional who is experienced in dual citizenship so that he or she can let you know any and all considerations that might affect your decision to buy a home here. Best of luck!
