To Walter...no fire extinguisher/CO2/smoke detector inspection or is that done by the township instead of the fire department??

To Samurai: Also usually it is the sellers responsibility to obtain the certificate of occupancy and fire certification unless the listing says otherwise.

That is what the building inspector in Bayonne looks for when they come to the property. The home or condo must be compliant. At the inspections I have attended, the Fire Department was not present.

Samurai,

The Bayonne Building Department must inspect and issue a Certificate of Occupancy on the house or condo before a closing can take place.

Here is the contact information for the Bayonne Building Department. I recommend contacting them with any specific questions.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I'll be happy to assist.

Sincerely,
