Great question. What's most important to you? Are you looking for something that is low/no maintenance? Are you looking for a sense of "community," or do you prefer the autonomy of a single family home without the maintenance? There are a number of options to consider. What is an ideal price range for you?

I market Bear Hill, an 55+ Community in Florence, MA. Free standing homes which are condominiums that offer single floor living or the ability to have two or three levels of living.
The homes have 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, kitchen, dining area and living room on the first floor and if you choose to have a second level, it can either have 1 or 2 more additional room with a full bath. They come with full basements and 2 car garages. They are located near the bike path, Look Park and an indoor community swimming pool, starting at $398,000.

There are several condo development that in the midst of our lively downtown and near the notable bike and walking path that connects right where people live, work and play. High WalkScores are common here because of this network and this is a very notable place for retirees too.

There are many 55 and older condo communities in the Northampton Easthampton, Southampton and Amherst area, and more condo communities, no matter what the age, being offered in many different price ranges. When relocating it is nice to have a local realtor on the lookout for what you specifically want. Interview more than one. It is important that you like them, trust them and know that they are full time and have the experience and drive that you require.

Watertown Mass and Northampton Mass are about 100 miles from each other. Watertown in a suburb of Boston. Make sure you choose an agent that knows Northampton is correct, North Hampton is not! Northampton is in Western Mass, the 413 area code.
