Please keep in mind, when looking at the Orlando Public Schools web site, that Lake Nona High school was unfairly graded because they did not have a graduating class the first year they were open. This counts significantly when scoring a high school, such as % of graduates, % accepted into college, attendance scoring, etc. The first year it opened, Lake Nona High School allowed incoming seniors to attend the local high school of their choice, since they only had one year of high school remaining. A better link to look at, for specific information about the excellent opportunities offered at Lake Nona High School is https://www.ocps.net/lc/southeast/hln/Pages/default.aspx.
The high school offers advanced curriculum, and accelerated programs tying into Valencia College/UCF, and the Medical City expansion (healthcare, sciences, engineering, and other tracts) that are top notch. Opportunities not available at many Orange County schools. Plus, the brand new middle school opens next week. Northlake Park Community schools (elementary) are top ranked in Orange County, as well. It would be an excellent move to enroll your student(s) in this school district.
