We looked at a used home in the Highlands of Sandy Springs in Atlanta, is it safe to buy?

We looked at a used home in the Highlands of Sandy Springs in Atlanta, but the community has lot of potential construction remaining. We loved the home but our realtor advised against buying in an incomplete community. Is it safe to buy this home?

We looked at some of the new homes in The HIghlands off of Roswell Road, and the interior finishes seemed nice, but the mortar was spaced so wide(to save bricks, I suppose) and was so full of sand in the mix for the three buildings we looked at that there were already cracks and open seams in the outside walls of all three buildings. Seemed to be made to sell quickly with little heed paid to the long-term investment considerations for the buyers. We ran, not walked, away. Too bad, because we loved the floor plans and the design. However, if what's behind the finishes isn't up to snuff or is questionable from the start, what's the point?

Without a crystal ball handy it would be hard to say what is safe or not. Listen to your agents advice as that is why you hired them to assist you.

Good answer, Michael.

Since you are already committed to another Realtor, Lr, you should likely heed their advice, That's why you hired them, right? Good Luck!
