Just want to know from those living in Bridgewater,NJ what the pros and cons are and how is life in this area. We are planning to look at homes only in Community Living Setup. How are the home prices in Bridgewater,NJ in this market? Thanks for all your advice.

Very nice location because of its easy access to major highways. The taxes are relatively low compared to surrounding towns. You will find a wide array of townhomes and condos from $275k to $450k available with prices down appx 8-10% from their peaks.
For my detailed information feel free to e-mail with any more questions.

I have lived and worked in Bridgewater. I now reside in Bernardsville and love it. Bridgewater is a wonderful area. There is easy access to most major highways with public transportation to NYC. The Beaches are only 45 minutes away, so is Pennsylvania. There are hiking and biking trails everywhere. Shopping and restaurants are close by, and the outlets in Flemington are only 15 minutes away. Check out the school reports on http://www.NJAgentCare.com There is a shopping Mall with great stores. Taxes are reasonable.

Hi Matt, Bridgewater is a great area. Part of Somerset County, Bridgewater is a vast area along a number of highways. The Martinsville section is a neighbor to Warren. There is a very nice townhome community there called Loft Farm, and a number of units are available. There's no shortage of condos and townhomes in Bridgewater. In fact, out near the Bridgewater Mall (and Wegman's incidentally and who doesn't shopping at Wegman's?) are communities of condos/townhomes/single family homes that provide great options at various price points. My speciailty is Somerset County, and Bridgewater is one of the communities that I service. I'd be honored to assist you with your search and purchase. Go to my website for more info.

Bridgewater is an excellent choice however since you are both consultants you have the option of so many other areas as well. My advice is to take your time and see what else there is. Depending on where you are living now you may be looking for certain atributes in your next home town. For me when I moved out of Somerset County I found value in Hunterdon County. Towns on the 78 corridor, like Clinton, offer lower home prices and excellent schools and access to major highways too. The River towns offer history and great afternoons. Flemington offers all of the above. If you ever want some information about Hunterdon County don't hesitate to contact me. Best of luck in your home search.

Hi Matt,

Home prices are down only slightly in Bridgewater and Bernards Twp. The median in Bridgewater was $450,000 during the height of the market and has been $425,000 over the last 6 months. So it's not like the market has dropped drastically, really not enough to make all that much difference in your mortgage payment. If you have any other questions, just ask!

Hi Matt,
Bridgewater is a wonderful place to live - my family and I have lived here for 16 happy years. The pros: easy, quick access to Routes 22, 78, 287, and 202/206; an extremely wide variety of homes and townhomes to choose from; wonderful shopping and store selection; moderated taxes; excellent school system; excellent rec programs and ball fields for kids; beautiful parks and bike paths; well educated population. The cons: they only thing missing from Bridgewater is a true "town center"; however, the mall serves as the unofficial town center.

Home prices have fallen here, as they have throughout the rest of the state. As you are likely aware, this presents a great opportunity for you to purchase at a low level and realize return on your investment in a few years as prices start to rise again. There is so much more to tell you - much more than can fit into a reply here! Please contact me and I'd be happy to take you on a tour of Bridgewater.

Hi Matt,
Currently there are 251 homes for sale in the Bridgewater area. Ranging from 1 bedroom condos to 7 bedroom homes! So, pending your specific needs, you have plenty to choose from at this time. Price ranges also range from under $200,000 up to 1,650,000! There are midsize price ranges as well in the development life style you are looking to live in.

It is a great commuter location for anyone especially if you are not sure of where your jobs will be. I have had clients look in that area for the main reason that they wanted to be within reasonable travel distance to family in northern new jersey as well as the shore area.

If you would like to contact me with your specific criteria, I can assist you in your search and email you homes that will be specific to your needs.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Great location for highway access...........traffic can get heavy and congested here. For New Jersey, the prices are good by comparison.

For school reports go to the
State of NJ Report Card http://education.state.nj.us/rc/rc06/index.html

Do you travel in your consulting work? Is access to EWR airport important?

Hi Matt,
I love Bridgewater! Like you said, it's close to everything and lots of golf courses! I grew up in Somerset County. Bridgewater can get a bit pricy but there is alot to choose from. Are you looking for a townhouse?
