We're interested in a safe and quaint neighborhood and spending under $210,000. What areas should we be watching for available homes?

Kenwood is one of my favorite areas in St. Pete--full of historic homes, minutes from downtown, and yet still on the lower end of the price range for the area. I have one listing which is more "cottage" than "bungalow", which is also a multi-family, two of three units already rented, and we just lowered the price to $232,900.

There are many safe and quaint neighborhoods in Gulfport as well as nearby St. Petersburg and also many that have the bungalow style homes in the price range for which you are looking. St. Petersburg is just a few miles from Gulfport and has much to offer, especially in the revived downtown area for people of all ages. Please visit my website http://www.dianeoakes.com and look under Local Links on side panel, and you will find information about local neigborhoods and communities.

Hello Carol,

As a mortgage loan specialist, I unfortunately can not give you advice on where to buy your bungalow-style home here, but I can definitely help you with financing. We offer second home purchases with 10% down and fantastic interest rates. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Carol, you should find no shortage of this style home in Pinellas County. They are all over the place. I believe a more important question would be related to the level of activity and what types of activity you would like to engage in when in Florida. For instance if you are an avid runner, biker, rollerblader I would make sure the 46 mile long, 12 wide, paved Pinellas Trail is nearby. Throw in frequent beach activity and we become more focused on specific communitues such as Dunedin and Palm Harbor. Take a look at what homes are available in these communites by visiting http://www.mylistingbook.listingbook.com
