Bought last lot of 2 in estbls. Subdivision. Did title search. Builder tried to pull build permit. City said water came onto lot ¬ buildable,we had to stop water. They held permit for ransom-ransom being we get owner of open field( source of storm water runoff)to give permission to build swale/berm on his land & we pay. Felt this was extortion but wanted home built so blder did work and split costUNDER DURESS!. City approved and gave permit. Now neighbor claims water on his lot caused by work we did. City says work we did is not enough, even though they said it was & gave permit. Now Occupancy permit being held up till we give in & pay for more work, signwe will maintain and have all liability for future issues. EXTORTION! We have discovered some info was withheld by the City that would have led to a simple fix ¬ cost us plus prevented water on other lot. Have to go before public works. BIG City with millions- we are middle class. <$2K! Can't say City employees at fault
