Trying to purchase our First home with credit issues.

Asked by Jimmie Holloway, Marlton, NJ Tue May 27, 2014

Hi, I live in South Jersey and my fiance and I are trying to purchase a our first home, we were dealing with a mortgage broker and thought we were even going to closing only to get denied at the last minute, because apparently they couldn't verify previous employment with a salary breakdown.
My mid range score is a 642, my fiance is 580, she has solid work history and no debt or collections (recently paid off) I have no open collections either (recently paid, and rescored) I do however have a tax lien that I make payments regularly on. My fiance makes 38000 a year, not counting $600 a month in child support, I make $45000 bonus. I recently found out that my current employment will end at the end of the month while we were in the process, but as of now I am still employed by the company. What should we do and is there anyone that can help either one of us indivually or together secure a mortgage between $120k-$180k?
