Thinking of buying house in the Los Altos area of Long Beach. Just wanted to get some thoughts about the area. Safe? Walkable? Good shopping/food?

Best places are all about personal preferences, budgets, wants, needs, lifestyle; therefore consider further researching areas of interest on your own, and take the time to visit more than once, then determine where your comfort level can best be reached; don't simply just entertain what other people think or say, another's opinion may not be anywhere near the best thing for you. When it comes to crime/safety concerns, it's best to check with the local authorities; for walkability see link

Los Altos is the "suburbs" of Long Beach. You will need to work with a Broker that lives and works in the area. I would be glad to educate you on the area and its surroundings. We have everything here from Shopping, Dining, great schools, parks and a overall wonderful community. I believe it to be very safe and walkable. I personally go jogging or for a walk at all times of the day and sometimes after dark. This is a very desirable area of Long Beach. Homes in this area have maintained their values and are on the rise. This would be a solid buy in a great area. Please call me if you have any other questions.

I really like the Los Altos area of Long Beach. It is somewhat walkable and gets a walkscore of 62 on walkscore.com. You can walk to some areas, but will probably still be dependent on a car as well.

Let me know if you have other questions, or want to have some listings sent over so you can see what the area has to offer.

Realtors are not experts on crime and safety. Contact the Long Beach police Department to get info a crime in the city.

I wish you the very best!!!

Mctuff~ I have lived in LB my entire life and love it.... In my opinion the Los Altos area is a perfect place to call home.. I live in Park Estates and love it... The Los Altos ares borders Park Estates and both areas of LB provide tons of good shopping/food... Hope this helps and I wish you all the best in your endeavors....
