Hi Rachel

I'm sorry this happened to you. Hopefully you can go back to the website and get your money back.

There are a lot of rental scams right now. You almost have to double and triple check the information if you are searching online. Search the address and do a drive by. A lot of times the house is actually listed for sale, so you can contact the Realtor to make sure it's not for rent also.
Beware of owners who say they are out of the country. This is most definitely a scam. They will ask you to send them all kinds of information and then eventually ask for money.

Your best bet would be to drive around the areas you are looking to rent in. Good luck.

Hi Rachel

Best bet for finding a rental in Sacramento is probably by using a property manager, Trulia has a specific rental page but that is "fed" many times from other websites which as you have discovered may not be accurate.

You can also drive around the neighborhoods that you want to live in and look for signs then call that property manager or visit their website.

Sorry to hear about your frustration! Many of the websites out there are confusing and a rip off!

Are you interested in buying a home or renting a home?

Great places to look for rentals would be Trulia, Zillow, Craigslist, or with a property management company.

If you are interested in purchasing, speaking with a Realtor and a mortgage broker would be your first step.

Unknown to many people, there are tons of first time home buyer and down payment assistance programs out available to purchasers like yourself. With some programs you can put 0% down and only have loan fees to pay. This means you could be in a home that you own, with appreciating equity, for much less than it costs to pay someone else's mortgage (ie renting).

Might want to try to get your money back on the website. The ID number does not sound familiar so it may be related to the sublet.com website.

There is a small home on ardenridge in the 95864 zip code that is a short sale pending approval. It is not available.

And so what is your question? What is the exact address of the house?
