Thanx ,when were the streets of the Back Bay laid out and who was St. Botolph and what was his connection to Boston. It is truly a wonderful area.

Asked by Justhinkn, Back Bay, Boston, MA Mon Aug 6, 2012

I'm asking because I would like to know a lot more about the history of this neighborhood, its architecture as well as Bostons other neighborhoods. Where do I go to find old maps of the area for purchase. Thanx again.

I would check with the Boston public library. I think the city also has a store that may sell these types of items. There are also books that detail the creation of these neighborhoods.
