Thanks all for answering my question about getting the approval letter out of BofA's system.

Asked by Homebuyer, Temecula, CA Fri Mar 5, 2010

We have opened escrow BUT it will not progress without receipt of approval letter.

How can we get BofA to send it out. It is in their system. Plus, the 866 phone number---they will NOT give any info to a buyer unless prior approval from seller is received.

They will get your letter to you in a couple of weeks. The problem is that the system is so overloaded with short sales that it takes time. Be patient, at least you have an open escrow. There is not much you can do but wait.

B of A has the reputation of being the slowest to respond to these types of issues. Just hang in there. Congratulations on your approval!

The listing agent need to get it for you. Have your agent call the listing agent and follow up, follow up, follow up. The agent should have recieved a copy and can push to get a copy. That is part of the agent's responsiblity and perhaps that agent needs some strong nugging. Just have agent call and follow up with an email everyday until it happens. If they do not respond back in that day, do it again until agent responds. Communication is key to make these things happen.

Good Luck!
