Please help me find a house with a busy area!!!

Asked by Historygirl42, Evans, GA Mon Jul 9, 2012

I am thinking of moving to the Evans area and all I have seen is rural and remote. I want a neighborhood with upper middle class homes, lots of shopping and dining and several options for grocery stores, Targets, Kohls, Costco. Where should I move? Everywhere I have seen is in the middle of no where.

Evans is a nice mixture of urban and rural. Just about anywhere you move to in Evans, you will be within 10 minutes of shopping. Mullins Crossings in Evans has a Target and a Kohls. A neighborhood you may find interesting is Northridge. It is walking distance from the Evans library and beatiful, new Evans Town Center Park with Lady Antebellum Pavillion (venue for major guest stars- such as Lady Antebellum).

Copy the following URL to your web browser and you will see one of the listings at the new subdivision Morning Falls:…

Morning Falls is close to the center of Evans with the library, park and government complex. A few minutes drive, making a left out of Morning Falls onto Evans to Lock Rd, will put you on Washington Rd, a major artery in Evans that takes you all the way to downtown Augusta. There are losts of restaurants along the way. Making a right out of Morning Falls onto Evans to Lock Rd. will soon put you on Fury's Ferry, another major road. There are lots of restaurants and grocery stores on Fury's Ferry, including Earth Fare (with lots of organic products and meats). For those interested in outdoor exercise, Evans to Locks boasts a walking/biking path that goes all the way to the Agusta Canal, where another path that travels between the canal and the river can be picked up.

Please contact me with the price range, size of home, are looking for and I will be happy to send you listings matching your criteria. Also, feel free to search for properties on my website:

Choose a Realtor you trust and will show you around the Evans area. There are a lot of great options around town....plenty of neighborhoods to choose from.

It matters if you have children too. I live off of Hereford Farm road and I can get to Target,Walmart,Lowes,Home depot and just about any restuarant in 10 min. If you have kids it is important to look at the high schools. Some may rate high but those are the ones with the most drugs and crime. I know the agents would love to sell you a nice brand new neighborhood but if you have kids the schools are important. The is like no traffis around here so you can get from one side of Evans to the other in 20 min. I would stay in Evans the houses cost more but they are also the ones that sell better.

Evans and Martinez are the more populated and busy areas in Columbia County and Grovetown is an up and coming area with many new businesses opening. Most of Evans and Martinez are quite convenient to shopping, dining and movie theatres and also a short drive to the Augusta area. Depending on your needs, your school and commute requirements and price range; you should have no problem at all finding a place you love in the Evans area. If you have children, I would visit a site such as to determine the schools you find most desirable. Next consider commute to work to narrow down the search area and go from there. Also, consider how important other items are to you, such as lot size and proximity to neighbors, do you prefer an older house or new construction or do you require a neighborhood with a pool. This will also help to narrow down your search. Please feel free to visit my site at for helpful link and a home search and I am available to answer question any time. Good luck!

In order to make more targeted suggestions, we would like to know as much information as possible. The more clarity and understanding of your needs we have, the better we can assist you!

What distance do you consider "remote" ... i.e. within how many miles would you like to be?
What price range house are you looking for?
What size house?
Would you consider other areas if they are closer to shopping?
How important are schools?
How important are home values vs. commute?

I'd be glad to help. There are many wonderful neighborhoods in the "Evans Town Center" area, and there are at least 3 grocery stores, Target, Kohls and a Walmart within 1-2 miles. The area also features many dining options (not just fast food), parks, the library, movie theatres etc. Costco is about 4 miles away, but the mall is closer to 8 or 10. Contact me any time. Hi: The Evans/Martinez area is where you want to look. The Appling area is the rural part of Columbia County. Even in the furthest part of the development like Riverwood Plantation, Windmill areas you are only 7-10 miles from the center shopping of Evans. I have a website full of information and property searches at or and . Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to help!
Sincerely selling,
