Xiaozhu, buying a home does not get you permanent residency - or even a tourist visa. There are some other programs available, if you've got more than $500K (I'm speaking of the EB5 program).

No, it does not.

You can own property in the US without having a resident visa. Do yourself a favor and consult with the nearest US embassy; at the very least, check out this site: http://travel.state.gov/visa/
