You should study the Demography of the neighborhood carefully before you move in. Check and double check the crime rate, median house price, quality of local school, nature hazard, flood zone, public safety....
Some website such as http://www.searchq.com gives you free demographic information of a particular neighborhood by home address. You can start your research from there.

The beauty of Las Vegas and Henderson is that you can find many neighborhoods which adhere to one’s preference. There are many family friendly communities and master planned communities with parks, playgrounds, splash pads, pools, schools close and other attractive amenities. Budget, home preferences, and the preference of schools could help determine where your family home will reside. At your convenience, feel free to contact me as I can assist with your search. In addition, I have posted Clark County School information below. There are fine private institutions here as well.

Thanks everyone for you answers. We are looking to rent a 3 bedroom home somewhere between $1500- $1800 a month. What does it normally take get started; first and last months rent. Can I get a better rate if we take a long term lease?

A quiet, family friendly neighborhood is priority since we do a 15 month old. I have looked into Summerlin and its seems pretty nice. Are there any others neighborhoods in Las Vegas similar to Summerlin?

Thanks!

Greenridge community is small, and safe. I've lived here for just over three years and love it!
The area is Pet friendly, Walking friendly (in the community), Close to everything..
Your only about 6.8 miles from the strip!
A couple of miles from several restaurants, And local casinos!

There are many family friendly neighborhoods. It really depends on what you qualify for (if you need a loan) and what your other criteria are for a home. Everyone wants something different. So, please contact me and I will listen very carefully to what you need and want for your family and then find you the home that fits your criteria. Myra Gouger - 702-858-9311

Hi Julie, there are numerous family friendly communities here in Las Vegas as well as in the Henderson area. I would be happy to help you and your family to become familiar with the various communities here. I would like to start by sending you a copy of my MLS area map. This way I will be able to send you different communities and you will be able to reference the map to determine their location. It will really help you to get a feel as what to expect where so to speak. I am not sure at this point if you are interested in purchasing or renting a home but either way, I would be more than happy to assist you!

If you will call me at 702-370-1072 or email me at lauri365@aol.com and let me know your full criteria, I will get started with sending you some options and helping you to become familiar with multiple communities.

There are a lot of great areas throughout the valley. However your personal interests will determine what areas are best for you. Do you like more remote areas so you are not bothered by neighbors that are only 5' from you property line or do you want to be closer to the action and love a more densely packed community.

I have lived in the southwest part of the valley since 1993 and wouldn't want to move to any other area. That's not because the other areas are bad, but i like not having to drive but a mile down the road and have a large selection of restaurants and shopping available to me. I have friends that live in other parts of the valley because they have horses or because they don't want to walk out their front door and see any commercial properties at all while others live closer to the strip or downtown because they like the constant activity.

Knowing more about you and what you want to spend will help in determining where you might want to start your search for your next place you call home.

If you have any questions or want some help, feel free to call or email.

I would love to assist you with your move to Las Vegas. I myself came from the Southern California area - Pasadena, but spent most of my time in the Santa Monica, Venice & Brentwood area. I have been in Las Vegas since '84 and have seen this town grow, and could point you the area that would suit you well.

Everybody likes Henderson for Family Friendly, but I find a bigger homes on a bigger lot between Summerlin and the Strip for less price. Gate Guarded, Close to Shopping and Recreation. What price do you have in mind?
