Search your area for a geneology liberary. Your area should have one. Also, the liberary can direct you to local historians, and books of the area with pictures from past event. Also, google it. Search websites for past owners and then research them. Also, websites for history of Dayton. Goolge post cards of Dayton. Local auditor and past mortgages. Plat maps for parcel numbers that may have been changed depending on the age of the home. Flood documents, go to garage sales and auctions and look through post card and letters and old books about the area. Google names, address, area, anything you find could lead you to something more. Good luck with your search. Have fun searching.

That address is in the Oregon Historical District and still stands.

Actually, construction of U.S. 35 - which runs off I-75, cut through that area and you are right, the house is gone. You can google homes on Brown Street that still stand in the Oregon District, probably the premiere historic district in the city - and you will see where the highway came through. On the other side of the highway, Brown Street continues, veers off onto Burns, then Warren, then back to Brown where Miami Valley Hospital stands in the 900 block. The entire Oregon District, once known as the Burns-Jackson district, was saved from Urban Renewal's wrecking ball in the early '70s.

Cathy, according to google the address shows replacement by a hospital. Are you certain the house still stands?
Thanks
