My VA loan was not approved b/c the condo was not on the VA approved list. Can I use the CalVet loan for this condo?

Sorry, CalVet follows the same rules.

You should change agents and mortgage people for your next deal because it seems like they did not know about a simple thing like checking the VA list and wasted your money on an appraisal and possibly a home inspection if you did one.

I would also ask them both for that money back.

It's a shame that a Veteran who served us had to get this bad service.

Thanks for your service.

The VA is now operating under a different type of system from previous times. Now they do not purchase the home, and you re-pay them, but they underwrite the loan the same as FHA. Therefore, they have to use the same guidelines.

Cal Vets usually follow what the VA does. As a veteran, (Naval Aviator), as well as being a Real Estate Broker,I have had experience with these types of situations. I just had a condo sale completed for a veteran using his VA benefits.

Ask your mortgage broker who has all your financial records. No one can render an opinion unless your entire file(s) are reviewed, including property location.
