Looking for a retirement home in the Phoenix area

Asked by Marie, Kentucky Sat Apr 4, 2009

We live in Kentucky, but have always wanted to move to the Phoenix area in retirement. We are 2 years away from that stage. The deals seem to be so good right now, we are considering buying the house now and renting it until we move there. Is there any market for short-sale properties, where the current owners may want to stay and rent the property? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

There are tons of houses right now that are short sale opportunities where the current resident would like to remain... There are also tons of houses that are lender owned in areas that you would have no trouble renting the property for a couple of years until you are ready. I would be happy to set up a "no obligation" search that would send you listings or provide a "portal" for you to be able to search on your own for the house that fits your needs. Feel free to contact me if you would like my assistance.

Hello, Marie. The inventory in much of the Phoenix area is high right now and there are many good deals out there. Many of the 25% of the homes listed are foreclosures and a higher percentage are short sales. You would want to narrow your search to a specific area of the Valley and a specific set of criteria. By choosing the right home in the right area, you will not only increase your chances of finding good renters but also having good long term success. All I would need is your criteria and the search could begin. Let me know how I can help.
