Looking for a property in Staten Island in tottenville less than 1000 ft from water but worried it may become uninsurable & property value will

drop Due to high cost to insure. Would you take the risk. What happens to owner now are insurers dropping them?

Well, it's a free site, and agents aren't paid to work here.

Think about it, though. A lot of people "took the risk," and saw their houses washed out to the sea. And, of course, a lot of houses are still standing. Maybe 'till the "next one."

The property I am looking at was never flooded but insurance rates are high and there is slim picking for insurers who will write there. Doesn't this depreciate the value of the home

Wards Point. It is elevated. There was no flooding there
