Living near elementary schools in edison

i have looked at a few houses in edison and the ones i liked were close to schools, the menlo park elementary and jp stevens, i want to know if there is any disadvantage of being close to the school.
should i be concerned about, traffic, commotion.?etc..???

Living close to the schools can mean a bit more traffic flow at the beginning and end of the school day, but as a parent and a realtor, I feel that the benefits of being close to the school out way the negative. As far as commotion, I would say that would be minimal at most. If the property happens to be right next to the school and you are home during the school day, then perhaps you may here the chatter of the children during gym/recess time, but other than that I believe there wouldn't be any commotion.

It really depends on the Site Logistics which means location of the house you want to buy and the distance to the closest school. Traffic Study plays a very important role in determining the location of the house you purchase. For example, One Way Streets or Two Way streets near to the house and schools which can potentially create less or more traffice near the house due to school traffic. Normally, buying close to a school can be advantageous If you have kid/s going to the same school. If not then you do invite more traffic on the street and parking issues when schools are in session. Also, If the house you buy is close to the back yard of any school, It should be relatively okay.
Each house is different and must be identified separately depending upon the nearest school location.

You would be making a good decision for your future investment. Many young families want to be very close to the schools for the benefit of their children, for the playgrounds and school yards that are a part of the school grounds and when you are ready to sell your home after you have enjoyed it, another family will be very happy to have it.
