My bank told me the FHA credit score had to be over 640. Is this true?

if you have an active collection you are proabably going to have to pay that off.You don't say how old ( I belive 2 years before it has less impact) it is or weather it is actual or disputed. Both which would add consideration. New FHA guide lines are credit score 530 no bad debt over 1000. - Call Tom Detiente at Mortgage first - he is pretty resourceful and can get you the answers you need.
