Is it true that the real estate in Sherman Oaks is in the 67% of violent crimes? We've lived here 40 years and never seen any crime.

Most parts of the LA metro area have very high crime stats partly due to the population density. Compare it to other surrounding areas to get the big picture.

Hi Susan,
LAPD has a crime map website - http://www.lapdcrimemaps.org. You just type in your address and choose a radius from 1 to 5 miles and it will show crimes committed for up to the last 7 days. Typically in our area we see more thefts, car thefts and a few burglaries rather than very violent crimes.
If you would like a detailed neighborhood report which includes the crime rate % for Sherman Oaks please contact me with your email address and I will prepare and send one to you.
Kind regards. Joanna

Keep in mind that opinions are often subjective--If you are concerned about crime, your best source of information is the local police department, why not consider calling/visiting, ask all your questions and hear all there is to hear firsthand--they'll gladly help.
