Is it possible to get financing on a manufactured home with a credit score less than 620 in Newark, Ohio?

Asked by Snoopy, Newark, OH Sun Jun 24, 2012

We are living in the house. We signed a lease with option to purchase and were in the process of doing an FHA Loan & 1 thing hit our credit and brought our score down. We are devastated beyond belief. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I don't believe you will be able to get FHA financing. You might see if the any of the local banks can help...Park National, First Federal (Charolette Blade), or Ohio Heritage (Marlise Hitchens 740-397-2277)...maybe they will have a different "in house" loan that will work.

Call Waco 1-800-832-6313...they lend on manufactured housing. Another option may be a local bank like Park ot First Federal, but I know for sure Waco lends on manufactureds.

When were you planning on getting a loan for the home? Depending on what it was that dinged your credit, it may not take that long for your score to go back up. Talk with your lender and they will be able to give you more information.

We were set to close the end of July, but with the FHA strict guidelines you could not have a late payment more than 30 days for a whole year. The Lender is saying that they can't do anything for us because the home we are trying to buy is a manufactured home. That was the only loan available for a this type of home. We are living in the home and signed a lease with option to purchase. Now the lease is up. We are trying to find another loan option FAST. We LOVE our home & want to buy this SOOO bad. I was trying to find some info on USDA Farm loans or Section 502 Loans to see if we would qualify for these. The location of our property would make us eligible. Any help/advice you could offer, would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.
