It may be that your Realtor is inexperienced with foreclosures. I suggest you meet with your Realtor and his/her broker, express your concerns, and see if there is a solution - either get your Realtor some help from the broker or another agent in the office, or refer you to a more experienced agent. This makes it a win-win for both you and your Realtor. If you don't get satisfaction this way, seek another Realtor to represent you. Best of luck - these days, most Realtors should know (or be willing to learn) how to represent buyers in a foreclosure.

Foreclosures often take longer than typical homes to close. They often require more work on the agent's part, and thus, many agent's don't want to take the time and effort to help you through the process. They can simply make more money doing simple deals than complicated ones. I often recommend that buyers contact a brokerage that has agents who specialize in foreclosures. They are not for the faint of heart, nor are they for the agent who's only done a few.

It takes experience to know what the banks will accept, what to watch out for, and how best to get the deal done in the shortest amount of time possible. Experience is the best cure for these types of deals, and an experienced foreclosure agent will not have any problem taking on your business, they know the ropes and know how to get resources to make it as smooth as possible.

That said, no matter how much pressure is applied, they still take longer than a typical resale, so be patient in the process.

Good Luck,

You need to look around until you find an agent who is willing to help you. Yes, they all have drama, but they can be done. I have done a number of bank sales and short sales, and they do require more effort on the part of the Realtor, but they are definitely doable.
