Go visit a couple lenders and they will get your score and tell you what you can borrow. That is always step #1.

Good morning Rob Valdez,

First steps:

1. Meet with a Local Mortgage Banker to get prequalified for mortgage financing. The Mortgage Banker will review all facets of your loan request to answer your questions with regards to the types of loans and maximum loan amounts you could qualify for.

2. Line up a Home Inspector. A good home inspector will scare the heck out of you: that's what you pay him for! But you'll concentrate on the fundamentals of the property: roof free of leaks, plumbing, heating and electrical up to code and in good working order. Again, when you make an offer and you have your Home Inspector ready to go, your offer will be considered with much more interest by a Seller because you truly have your "ducks in a row" and your preparation demonstrates your serious attitude about conducting the purchase transaction in a timely manner.

3. Find an experienced Local Realtor who works in your desired shopping area. A serious pro Realtor will refuse to show you homes until you are Prequalified for mortgage financing. Don't take offense! That Realtor doesn't want you to be disappointed and wants you to have a smooth experience as you shop for your new home.

Put together your Team of real estate professionals and shop 'til you drop!

What you need to do is contact a mortgage lender in your area. I recommend shopping around and getting a lot of quotes so you have some good options to choose from. Also, get connected with a good realtor who cares about people to find you that perfect home once you do get approved for a loan.

Hola Valdez,

Hi There:

The first step would be to talk a loan officer. A good loan officer will evaluate your income, credit,..and gives us a number for your maximum qualification amount. Then we can go out an look at homes in that price range.

Let me know if you would like me to email our loan officer's info to you so you can get ball rolling.

The lender is the first step in the home buying process they will let you know where you stand. You will need a pre-approval letter from them and then contact a Real Estate agent.

If I can be of help let me know.

It is an easy task and it takes only 10 minutes of your time.
I will put you in touch with some lenders that are reliable and they will be able to give you all that information and if possible a pre-approval letter which you will need to present an offer.
