Hi Sue!
Larry is correct. We would need additional information from you to help you with more detailed information as far as tax implementations. I can tell you in Florida we have thousands of buyers from around the world. You do not have to be a US Citizen to own property in Florida. We have a lot of great homes available for a very good price right now. Many of them start under $100 SqFt in communities that have resort like features. If you would like more info on buying a home in Florida, please feel free to give me a call 904-562-9345 or I encourage you to look at my web site and see if there are any houses that you may like. I have a feature on my website where you can save listings to your own file and come back to view them at anytime. Have a great day! Mike

Sue the majority of the information required will be by the lender. If you are going to finance a home here they will need a fair amount of information and documentation. The main question is whether this is a second home, investment property, or are you going to immigrate? I work with some international clients now but, they are immigrating. That process is long and through the US Embassy. As far as just owning property in the US by non-citizens that is not a problem. There are just some tax issues. So depending on the answers to the above questions will determine the answer to yours.
