You heard correctly! Stapleton once Denver's old airport has been turned into a modern new neighborhood of the same name. The good news is Stapleton is being built as a sustainable Green neighborhood with housing options in all price ranges. There is workforce housing for lower income families right up to million dollar homes. Stapleton's appeal are the many parks, sidewalks and a town center homeowners find very appealing, like the wonderful old neighborhoods of the city.

Kristal Kraft hit the nail on the head with that answer. Stapleton's appeal is new homes that are minutes away from downtown jobs and all the amenities of downtown Denver has to offer. The biggest misconception about this area is that the home lots are going to be large and that is NOT the case. The homes are built urban-style--maximizing the space with smaller individual home lots and emphasizing community spaces such as parks and recreation paths.

It is also possible to buy brand new and newer condos in Stapleton priced from around $200,000 and up. The 'green built' community aspect is really a great feature of Stapleton which focuses on conservation of natural resources and energy.

Geographically where is Stapleton located? What direction in relation to downtown Denver?

Stapleton actually goes north of I-70 at Quebec (Northfield), as well as south. Although still under construction, the Stapleton neighborhood has taken the recognizable shape of an idyllic, suburban neighborhood. At the East 29th Avenue Town Center, Quebec Square and Northfield at Stapleton shopping centers, Chipotles, Starbucks, Home Depots, SuperTargets—essentially any and all of your favorite chains—abound.

Where there are not stores and homes, there is open space. Developers have set aside nearly 30 percent of Stapleton's 4,700 acres to parks and recreation facilities, the nucleus of which will be "Central Park." Bike paths and running trails will soon follow, as will Stapleton's rise to be one of Denver's cleanest and greenest neighborhoods.

Maureen, you can find the Stapleton neighborhood northeast of downtown Denver. It is south of I-70 at Quebec.

Stapleton is located in the northeast corner of Denver County, and is pretty much due east of downtown Denver, with a commuting time of about 10 to 15 minutes, depending on traffic. Homes in Stapleton have been selling for between $265,000 (for about 1300 s.f., without a basement) all the way up to $1.5 million.
