Sarah,
What are you trying to qualify for?
If it is the Tax credit, you should have had a binding contract on a home on April 30th and close by June 3oth.
Whether you owned a home or not in the last 3 years, will determine whether your credit is $6500 or $8000.
If not the Tax Credit, what are you qualifying for.

good morning sarah...in the state of michigan...if your husband ownes a home and purchased it prior to your marriage to him, you still have an interest in the home because of the michigan dower rights law.......he can either quit-claim-deed you on to the home with him, or walk down the aisle and marry you.....either way, you were a homeowner if you are now divorced or not....i hope that helps.......bob mcclure- success mortgage partners- plymouth, michigan........

Sarah,

Your loan officer would be able to qualify this further. I suggest giving them all the facts. Remember, it could be considered fraud if you use incorrect information to obtain a mortgage or a tax credit.
