I am thinking of moving to the Ruidoso/Alto area, I am concern that there are so many houses on the market that don't seem to be moving. Why?

You are right housing prices are the lowest I have seen them.
Supply and demand is 101 economics.

It is a buyers market. Interest rates are at a 60 year low and look to stay that way this year!

All good news when looking for a new home.

Thanks, Ms Annie

Thanks for the fast response! That makes sense and hopefully sellers will drop their prices.

Our market is made up of second homes which are owned by people that do not have to sale but would like to sell. Very few are distressed properties. The owners have put a price on their property which is higher than buyers are willing to pay right now. Buyers are cautious so it makes for a market that is not liquid in this type of real estate economy.
