I am moving to the area the end of October. I will only be able to afford up to 160k for a place to live,

prefer under 125k. Do you think it will be possible to find a clean, nice, safe 3br/1.5-2 bath condo by then? So far, it just looks like I will be able to afford mobile homes. I really like some of the condos going for 170k short sales on Shasta Dr. though.

Well Hello "Just Looking", would you like the good news, or the bad news? The bad news is...no way to know for sure what prices will look like in October, the good news is...there are plenty of opportunities for you as we sit here today! give me a call or email and i will get your info to one of my Vacaville Agents, they can put you on an automated email capmaign where you recieve new home reports, that fit your needs, as they come on the market. As it gets closer you can work together and get your house! Best of Luck! The Coach

Having faith in a Realtor who is commited to working for you is an important step. Solano county is certainly a lot more affordable now than it was even a year ago. Vacaville is a nice town, but it has been effected by the upheaval in the housing market as have many other areas in the US. I believe it's do-able for you especially because of the housing issues. A great time to buy..

It might be possible but it could be tricky because the property you are describing is in fairly high demand even in a weak market. You may need to lower your expectations or increase your price range. Also, beware of short sales, they can be very difficult.

To "Just Looking" .... you might not be able to find anything in your price range in California, however, you will be able to find a very nice home for $160,000 in San Antonio, Texas. If this sounds appealing to you, please access my website at http://www.YvonneBaker.com or email me at ycbaker@kw.com.
