There are several things you have to think about. Firstly, the neighborhoods with the best schools/ school districts are also more expensive when it comes to property values. You may have to be willing to make other sacrifices on order to get into the school district that you want. You may have to get a smaller home or a home that needs work depending on your budget. I have been selling real estate all over Brooklyn since 1993 and have two children in public school right now. If you want, feel free to contact me direct and I would be more than happy to assist.
In the mean time, here are some pointers....
a) You can check out the web site http://www.schooldigger.com
to get public school ratings.
b) You can check out what school is zoned for any property in Brooklyn by doing a New York City school search here: http://schools.nyc.gov/schoolsearch/
If I can be of further assistance feel free to contact me direct.
