I am looking for a condo to use as a vacation home. Would like to be close to the ocean, but don't know where to be looking. Any advise would be?

The first thing you need to decide is what type of area do you want....very active and busy party type place or quiet and laid back?

Hi Alice, I agree with James, your budget may decide your location. You could start looking at Realtor.com and imput your budget and see what areas have available units.

Another point to consider may be schools, airport accessibility, I95, Turnpike. What kind of stores or Doctor services you may need. I would speak with a Realtor to help you narrow down your wants and needs and direct you towards a community that you would love.

Good luck in your search and if I can be of further assistance, don't hesitate to contact me.

Have a great day! Lori

Great question. Your budget will help you in this process. Do you want to be on the ocean or near the ocean. Jupiter, Juno and Singer Island are the best of the best in location and not too crowded. Would love to help you in any way. We have been in the area for over 25 years helping buyers and sellers. Call or E-mail at any time.

Thank you,

Hi Alice. Each area of Florida offers something wonderful. Some people like a quiet, sparse area where things move at a more relaxed pace. That is more characteristic of the west coast of Florida. The southeast coast is more "hustle bustle". You really have to decide if you want your vacation home to give you time for R&R or if you want to go go go. The next thing to think about is your price range. Condos price ranges vary significantly and that is due to the amenities they offer. If you have a pet please keep in mind that not all of the condos allow pets.

Maybe visiting some of the areas that you are thinking about would be a good idea so that you get a sense for the area?

Please call or email me if I can be of further help. My cell # is 561-445-8743.

Hope I helped you.

Alice,

Having been from Jacksonville to Key West and Naples to Pensacola and most points in between I know the state very well. There are some amazing places to call home but many differences in weather, lifestyle and landscape; stay below Vero Beach on the east coast and Sarasota on the west coast if you want the best winter weather. The best place I can point you is a brief blog I did about the Jupiter area;

http://tompriester.wordpress.com/2010/06/04/jupiter-rocks/

As a resident of Jupiter, I work throughout Palm Beach and Martin Counties, and a great place to start is by defining your goals and comparing the lifestyles and housing costs of areas that you are interested in. There are so many different options available to us that reside in the state and I have selected Jupiter because of the quality of life that we enjoy. From my viewpoint, there is no finer place to reside that the Jupiter area; from the best schools, to a fantastic economy fueled by many factors and of course the wonderful facilities of Max Planck and Scripps Institute, to incredible unspoiled beaches, unbelievable dining and shopping options, numerous boating and golf opportunities, uncrowded streets, low crime and just the overall kindness of our residents. Just Friday we were out with a client form New York who commented on just how nice everyone is; and why not as we are truly lucky to live in Paradise. Another area where I do a lot of business is Delray Beach and the corridor along Atlantic Ave is one you may also want to consider.

I work almost entirely as a buyers agent in Palm Beach and Martin Counties and certainly would be honored to be on the list of Realtors® you interview and happy to be of assistance in any way that I can. If you are in the area and would like a tour I would enjoy showing you why I am so fortunate to call Palm Beach County home.

I hope this information is helpful but if you need anything additional please do not hesitate to give me a call.
