By law, Realtors can't really answer this question for you. I'd suggest giving a call to the local police who certainly can advise you if the area is a high crime area and also consider stopping during the day and perhaps speaking with some neighbors who might be outside. Weekends are the best time to do this.

I think talking to neighbors as mentioned is one way and use the trulia tool to see reported crimes http://www.trulia.com/real_estate/Dearborn_Heights-Michigan/… You can move around the map and zoom into streets you are considering. Finally call the police to get more specific crime data regarding drug arrests, etc.

Hi Olando,

Under each property detail we have a list of "Local Info" maps that will show you various public information mapped. Here is the link to 7409 Brace St. with the crime map selected:

Good answer Haig. Dont.buy a house in an area you are not familiar with, do your due diligence, spend time on the blocks morning noon and night along with research to get comfortable.

Hello,

The best way to get that answered would be to go down the street and talk to some of the neighbors that live there. I would also call the local police department to ask about what crimes occur in the area.

As Realtors we are not allowed to answer questions about which area is better than another, so you really have to do your own homework. You can also check out some of these web sites online;

http://www.city-data.com/crime/crime-Michigan.html

http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/neighborhoods/crime-rates/

http://www.fbi.gov/stats-services/crimestats

I hope this helps you a bit and Good Luck!
