You are so lucky to be asking about safety in Washington DC. The DCPD has a great site regarding crime activity currently and in the past. Please check out their website and let me know if it helps you.

I assume you are talking about 1001 L Street--Quincy Park. A unit is about to close there on the 15th that will be a great comp by which to judge the values of the other 2 active listings there.

Anyway, perhaps a regular citizen will be able to answer your question on the matter as realtors are not allowed by law to state whether neighborhoods are "safe" or not. It is considered a violation of fair housing, etc. I would say this...it's a hot area and I'd be cool with my sister living there if that helps at all. The best I could do on this question is refer you to some websites that offer police reports if you wanted to compare the area to others in DC.

hi there...safety is relative to what you are used to. someone advised to walk around during the day and in evening and see how you feel. that is the best way to figure it out. check out how many other people are walking around. i personally think that area is safe but i am a longtime washingtonian and don't find too many areas unsafe. crime can happen anywhere but it is based lots on individual.

Good luck!

Agents can never comment on crime, and safety is a personal perception.

I always suggest that clients check out http://www.washigntonpost.com/crime or http://www.crimereports.com to see what the police are reporting for a given neighborhood.

Be sure to check out the neighborhood your considering moving to and a neighborhood where you feel safe. That way you can compare statistically what is happening in both areas.

Also, go through the neighborhood you're considering at various times of the day and various days of the week. If you don't feel safe there then it's not the right choice for you.

As JustnewListings stated,we can't give information about a particular neighborhood since it will be violating fair housing laws. However,Go to my website http://lanrefolayan.point2agent.com and the left hand side click on the link Metropolitian Police Department. They will help you answer your question. Hope this helps.
