There are several great areas but it should be tailored to your wants and needs such as commute to work, are schools important to you, shopping, are you looking for an area close to restaurants, are you looking for piece and quiet or more of entertainment area? If you want call me or email me a list I will be glad to take a look at it rather then to just give you a generic answer.

There are too many variations in what people consider great! I recommend finding a realtor who you connect with and looking at places in person. Do you like shiny and new modern lofts? Old Florida midcentury modern? Craftsman homes on tree lined brick streets?

My first question would be what do you desire in a neighborhood? Are HOA by laws important? Fees? Schools? Parks? Tennis....etc Here is a list of what is selling in Orlando by zip code http://c.ymcdn.com/sites/www.orlandorealtors.org/resource/re… and if you want neighborhoods and associations check out http://www.neighborhoodlink.com/places/neighborhoods/Orlando_FL

I live in Baldwin Pk; and it is an ideal location with in-situ shoping, business, entertainment a host of recreational facilities ie; 3 x olympic syyle swimming pools, tennis, miles of jogging and cycle paths etc. The night time entertainment is good so that you can walk there and back and many functions are laid on at frequent intervals; come for a visit and you will stay on for some good times, We have 2 x lakes that add to the enhancement of the inherent beauty yet close enough to the downtown, airport and magic arena which sponsors your big time entertainers. See ya around!

Baldwin Park. I LOVE it! Convenient to Winter Park as well as Downtown Orlando. Great schools within walking distance. Our own "downtown" to walk to lunch. Bike and walking paths everywhere. 3 Community pools, tennis, parks, 2 gyms and 2 meeting rooms. A dog park. And an awesome mix of people.

Hi John,

As everyone has already commented Orlando is a great place to live with a great deal of variety. It really depends on your budget, your likes and dislikes. However, I can recommend the Lake Nona area as it is a up and coming area here in Orlando, the housing prices are reasonable and the amount of growth potential it will have in 5-10 years is definitely worth researching.

Check out this site below, and if you have any additional questions please please free to contact me.

Best of Luck!

Your question is subjective and strongly relies on personal opinion that may not match yours. Your best course of action is to plan a visit to the area for the sole purpose of collecting this information....and not finding or purchasing a home. This way your prime locations will be based on your personal opinion.....not someone elses.

It's a great time to plan a long weekend to the Orlando area............

Good luck

I will have to agree with Rick A. on this one... the areas that are just perfect are East side Lake Nona,Waterford,Avalon North,Oviedo, Winter Springs, Downtown Winter Park and College Park. Those are areas that I also happen to work in a lot!

If you have any questions about those areas feel free to give any of the realtors that have posted answers on this site... we will really be able to help you find that perfect home in this great buyers market!

A great place to live is the Dr Phillips, Windermere area. There is something here for everyone. A-rated schools, parks, and larger lots offer nice space for families, and many eateries, and attractions keep everyone entertained. My home is right between Windermere and Dr Phillips and am close to everything! Quiet enough and away from the traffic, yet easily accessible. And this is an area where real estate values have fallen to realistic before the boom levels, it is a great time to buy, as this is an area that will always be in demand and is sure to recover value.

John first of all great decision to consider Orlando, Florida as your next home.
We in Florida are noted for our wonderful climate, beaches, theme parks and golf courses.
I have lived in Central Florida for over 40 years and would live no where else in the State of Florida.

Orlando is surrounded with many great communities; Winter Park, Longwood, Winter Springs, Oviedo, Altamonte Springs, Apopka, Sanford, Lake Nona just to name a few. Each one of these communities are unique and have a great deal to offer. Home buying is a personal preference John, so it's up to you to research some areas that may be of interest to you and then have your agent here send you information. Please feel free to visit my website http://www.callmaggietoday.com it's available for you to search for properties 24/7. While on my site please view my testamonials to see what others have to say about my level of service and then give me a call at 407-929-1384.

As a Realtor that has helped buyers relocate from all over the U.S. to Central Florida to answer your question a bit more information will need to be discovered.

Do you need Schools for little ones, quick access to work, close to the Theme Parks or Beaches, price, bed, bath, square footage, single family, townhome, condo, gated, non-gated, hoa fees etc...

I would recommend if you are thinking of distress properties visit my web site for information and if time is an issue go for foreclosure as days to close is less than short sale.

Take time to explore my profile located here on Trulia: http://www.trulia.com/voices/profile/Real_Estate_Pro-Orlando…

Good Morning John
Congrats on your decision to move to Florida! Central Florida offers so many choices and good ones, I might add. I live downtown, near Baldwin Park, in fact I shop there often. It is a very convenient area.

Like my colleagues here, I would like to chat with you more about what your lifestyle is like, your needs for work, travel, schools, sports. Do you like older charming homes with character and brick streets, contemporary hip areas close to shopping, nightlife or suburban planned communities with schools close by, community pools and parks? We have it all. Pretty Diverse.

I would suggest making contact with a Realtor (or two) and choose one you are most comfortable with. This will be your key to success in finding the right home and neighborhood. This is a great time to buy as you know and as Realtors we welcome you to the City Beautiful and bring family and friends!

I invite you to visit my website or call if you would like more information on my experience and service. Remember many Realtors will have an area of expertise. While I work most of Central Florida, I am most experienced from Downtown Orlando to East Orange, Seminole, Winter Park, College Park, Lake Nona. I am a relocation certified agent and if you contact me I will send you a relocation package. Best of Luck to you in your move and let us know how we can help make it a good one.

I have lived in Orlando for 27 years, and I am a Realtor. Three of the best areas in Orlando for convenience and schools are right here in Baldwin Park, Conway and Dr. Phillips. I have not lived in Dr. Phillips, but that area offers so much convenience and I have sold a lot of homes around that area. My family lived in Conway for about 15 years, and we loved it. Currently we live in Baldwin Park, and honestly was not sure any place could be more convenient than Conway. We have found that Baldwin Park is so close to everything.

Your family wants and needs and, of course, price range though will dictate areas that are best for you.

It appears that you are looking to purchase in Baldwin Park & that is a very nice area to live. If you are considering other areas, it really depends no what you are looking for & also where you plan to be working, if so. With that said, more information on what you are looking for in a home & community would be required.

Contact me & I'd be more than happy to show you the different communities in the Greater Orlando/Central Florida area that would suit your criteria and needs.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best Regards,
Marc Grossman, GRI
