I am concerned about the weather conditions in Cayucos. How many foggy days? Rainy days? Is there a resource I can search?

Cayucos Beach faces Southwest so it's often out of the wind & fog you will get in other Coastal Communities. Morro Bay faces West and although just a couple miles south has many more foggy days.

Each day has several weather changes making living here very special.
My advise, track the weather on your phone or computer and watch the changes during different times of the day.

Hello Lorenda
I came across your question and felt compelled to answer as I had resided in Cayucos for the past 8 years. Cayucos offers the most temperate weather among the coastal cities in North Coastal San Luis Obispo County. Among Cambria, Morro Bay, Los Osos and Cayucos, Cayuceans experience the least fog. Cayucos is situated in the 'belly' of Estero Bay. When it's foggy in Morro Bay, it's not foggy in Cayucos. This is typically true during the day. The fog tends to be similar along the coast during the night. Recent temperatures have been warmer than colder. This year, average temperatures are closer to low 70 degress F., and cooler weather is between high 40's to low 50's F. Summer tends to be cooler than winter. We had experienced as high as a rare heat wave of 100 deg. F last winter! We don't get as much rain as we like. Rainy days are usually in late December to February.

I have a client that currently lives in Cayucos. In a recent conversation, he said that when it is foggy in Morro Bay, it is not foggy in Cayucos. If you look at Cayucos on a map that makes sense, as Cayucos is on the protected north edge of the ocean basin.

You can look up staticicis about precipitation online on several weather related web sites. For example http://ca.rand.org, but you will need to register. The closest weather station is located in Morro Bay, so it may be difficult to find accurate statistics about Cayucos. If you are serious about finding weather information, I would suggest going to Cayucos and talk with people that live there. Let me know if my answer helps, if not feel free to contact me again or call me at 805-471-0828. David
