I think what you are asking is member access to a CA MLS based upon the fact that you are a Realtor member in another MLS. Unfortunately, that is usually not an option.

There has been much discussion over the last few years about a national MLS member database. We are starting to see access across local MLSs to members in the same state. I am aware of that in FL and CA, but the access to other MLSs beyond the home membership MLS has been within the same state.

I am not familiar with any MLS that grants an out of state Realtor the same access they would for dues paying members. If anyone else s familiar with such, I would be interested to hear about it.

As a consumer, of course, you have access to the public side listing data through Realtor IDX sites, public MLS sites, Realtor.com, and of course, the properties listed in the Trulia database.

Of course, you can refer yourself as Jim suggested. Your Realtor status will help you by adding to your bottom line.

Good luck in your search.

If you referred a client to a California agent you would expect a referral fee (must be paid broker to broker usually) . You could refer yourself and have the best of both worlds - Representation and you get to collect the taxation!

Christine, there are at least 70 different MLSs in California. For the best information which will send you the most current lstings DAILY, just log on to http://www.justlisted.com and put in the areas/zipcodes you're looking in. A real estate professional will be able to assist you. If you're not licensed in Cali you'll need the representation of a licensed REALTOR who knows the local market and will be a great resource for you in your search for a new home. If you're looking in the Los Angeles or Orange County areas, please contact me at http://www.maggiehomefinder.com .

If you are looking in San Diego, you will need to find an agent in that market to sign you up as a client. The MLS boards are very locally specific. Realtor.com probably aggregates listings best, although you only get "client" data. Signing up with the local mls for full mls access may make sense. Although that would require a CA license.

Christine, I don't know if you work for a large company but if you do you could start by calling a branch of your own company in the area your looking for and ask them to set you up as a client like we do here with MLS-PIN. Perhaps they could also set you up with a "hotsheet" of sorts also.

You are welcome to use my website to search the Realtor MLS. Realtor.com is also a good place to start. Another great site is http://www.greathomes.org.

Welcome to California, the home of 70+ MLS’s. Unlike other states in this wonderful country of ours we have a MLS for every area of our state. Soon we will not and just have one but that’s several years away. I have a few options for you to search in our state. First you can go to my website http://www.4saletours.com and search our local MLS that covers Riverside, Corona, Norco, and parts of the LA. Or you can go to http://www.kw.com and search Keller Williams listing in California. Again it’s broke down into cities. Either way you can get a good head start.

And if you need more information contact one of us REALTOR® out in California and we can help you get more details.
