Be very careful. There is a lawsuit in the circuit court of Conecuh county surrounding a former slave named Washington Johnson who's heirs are entitled to mineral rights involving a large sum of money from an oil company http://.www.philly195852@yahoo.com.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT. BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN ADUDICATED WE DID HOLD ON. BUT WE DO KNOW THAT THERE IS MORE PROPERTY. THEY SENT MORE LETTERS THEN THEY SUDDENLY STOPPED;IT WAS ABOUT MORE ACREAS HERD ANYTHING.

We have some land that different companys have been trying to gain the mineral rights to for years but we've held on to them.

You have to consider all your options but once you give up the rights, you've lost them forever. Personally, I'm a fan of holding on to any mineral rights I can get my hands on.

We can't render an opinion that is outside of our scope of professional boundaries

Confer with an attorney who specializes in this practice of mineral rights

I think better to hold on to the rights, but be willing to lease them.
But that's me. I don't know your financial situation or the lease activity around Alvin.
But every situation is different.
You might ask the attorney handling the estate of your realtive what they think.
They're probably local and might have a better idea of values and legalities.
