You'll need to get condo insurance but let them know its a co-op. Because the co-op deals with extremely major stuff, like a wall falls over, the rate is pretty cheap but you'll want to check your max coverage in the kitchen. If say, the idiot above you floods his kitchen, and it runs into your kitchen, causing mold in the cabinets, so they have to be totally thrown out and you have to get all new ones, the 6k limit we had sure starts to look small. We're with met life because my old employer had a deal with them that was unbeatable. Since that employer no longer exists, i'm still with them because i'm too lazy to shop around.

No matter what, if you own, you can get homeowners insurance. It shouldn't matter if you have a renter (but it may affect your rate). I use Traveler's, but am not too impressed. Northwestern has great reviews online.

Yes, I do. And if he cannot, or if he knows you can get a better deal elsewhere, he will refer you out. Please contact me off line at Gail@GailGladstone.com for the information. By the way, I use him 100% for all of my personal holdings.
