Husband has an FHA loan in his name....can i still get an FHA in my name?

Asked by Bebe22, 30291 Thu Jul 15, 2010

My husband got an FHA loan for our current house before we were married. The loan is soley in his name. We have outgrown our current house and looking to move into a bigger house. It is true that beacuse we are married i cannot get my own FHA loan....even if the current FHA loan in not in my name at all?

btw we live in Georgia

Actually if you can provide acceptable evidence of your move up you may be able to qualify for an FHA loan anyway. There are caveats here that I would rather not train my competitors in through an open network but if you give me a call we can explore. We're not a bank and we're not a broker. We are a large, direct lender and my department specializes in Georgia FHA home loans.

Great questions. If you are not on the mortgage but are on title you will not be able to qualify for an FHA mortgage, but if you are not on title you should be able to make that happen. Give me a call if you have any additional questions.
