Hi Jeannie, School taxes are not collected separately in NC rather they are grouped together with the property taxes associated with the home. I know where I am from in New York a separate bill was issued each year for school taxes that had to be paid but it is included in the property taxes in Charlotte. If you would like to know the tax rates for the county, city, or town you can go to the Mecklenburg County Website. https://charmeck.org and under the tax assessors office link there is a great resource that lays out all of the tax breakdowns for Mecklenburg County. Hope this helps!

Go to the county Tax Collectors office web page. Look up the address of the property you are interested in and see what the school taxes are.

Good morning, Jeannie:
Bankrate has a good summary of NC taxes. if you go to the NCDOR property tax page http://www.dor.state.nc.us/publications/propertyrates.html, you can find school taxes there. Generally, these are rolled into the county taxes in NC and show up as a line item on the budget. If you appreciate an answer, please give thumbs up.
