If all your documentation is in order and the department isn't backlogged it can be only a couple days--however some are faster than others.

Usually the time frame is 2-10 business days to underwrite your mortgage file.
The underwriting process is when you will be asked to gather additional information for more documentation on certain items for your mortgage. It is important to get that requested item to your mortgage processor or real estate agent as soon as possible. Until Your file really clear to close...
Good Luck...for your everything...

Depends on the lender. I have some lenders that are 48 hours and some that take 7 days.

The best thing you can do is make sure you give everything to the mortgage person so they can paint the whole picture and limit the questions an underwriter has.
