Hi Loraine,

To be brief, I have lived in Culver City for about 30 years and have raised all 5 of my children here. It's an absolutely wonderful place and I can't think of anywhere else I would rather live. Culver City just continues to get better every year.

Hello Loraine,

Culver City is a great place to live. So many restaurants and boutiques in downtown. The homes show with pride of ownership. The schools are also great. It's in a central location in Los Angeles with also many studios making it home. If you want to see any homes there or have any questions, let me know.

Best,

HI Loraine,
I have a small blog on Culver City at http://www.localism.com/ (type in Culver City,CA) we have local information on the City there
I would say that residents love the area considering there are few homes for sale here and people tend to stay in the area many years. We have great schools and the entire community has been build around neighborhood parks and recreation.

Quality of life should be dictated by personal preferences, wants, needs, lifestyle, etc.; if unfamiliar with the area do visit more than once, then make your determination, will the neighborhood suit those needs.

Hi Lorraine,

I have lived and worked in Culver City for 12 years and I absolutely LOVE it as barack Obama did on his recent visit!

When you think about quality of life you must consider politics, development, environment, education, recreation and social belonging and Culver City has it all.

The Mayor, City Council, City Manager and Redevelopment Agency do a great job of including and encouraging residents to become actively involved by attending City Council Meetings and volunteering on Committees and Commissions. Culver City also has a low crime rate. Additionally, The Chamber of Commerce is effective in forging relationships with local area business such as YMCA, Sony, Target (2 locations), Best Buy (2 locations), Four Points Sheraton, Courtyard by Marriott and more. Culver City is also home to restaurants, retail, car dealerships, grocery stores, financial institutions and more.

Culver City is also going green with the following initiatives: compressed natural gas for public buses, a rain water harvesting program, a bicycle and pedestrian master plan and recycling programs. The Expo Light Rail project is well underway that will eventually run from Downtown LA through Culver City and into Santa Monica.

The award winning Culver City K-12 public school system is also top notch with high test scores.

If you’re looking for something to do in Culver City, look no more. You have your choice of restaurants, retail (including a mall with over 130 stores), art galleries, ice skating rink, library, junior college, museums, movie theaters, and live acting theaters. The City also has 13 parks (including a skate park and dog park), a swimming pool, a teen center and a senior center. Arts and culture are also alive and well with such city sponsored events as festivals, music series, car shows, art walks, and more.
