I have lived and worked in Culver City for 12 years and I absolutely LOVE it as barack Obama did on his recent visit!
When you think about quality of life you must consider politics, development, environment, education, recreation and social belonging and Culver City has it all.
The Mayor, City Council, City Manager and Redevelopment Agency do a great job of including and encouraging residents to become actively involved by attending City Council Meetings and volunteering on Committees and Commissions. Culver City also has a low crime rate. Additionally, The Chamber of Commerce is effective in forging relationships with local area business such as YMCA, Sony, Target (2 locations), Best Buy (2 locations), Four Points Sheraton, Courtyard by Marriott and more. Culver City is also home to restaurants, retail, car dealerships, grocery stores, financial institutions and more.
Culver City is also going green with the following initiatives: compressed natural gas for public buses, a rain water harvesting program, a bicycle and pedestrian master plan and recycling programs. The Expo Light Rail project is well underway that will eventually run from Downtown LA through Culver City and into Santa Monica.
The award winning Culver City K-12 public school system is also top notch with high test scores.
If you’re looking for something to do in Culver City, look no more. You have your choice of restaurants, retail (including a mall with over 130 stores), art galleries, ice skating rink, library, junior college, museums, movie theaters, and live acting theaters. The City also has 13 parks (including a skate park and dog park), a swimming pool, a teen center and a senior center. Arts and culture are also alive and well with such city sponsored events as festivals, music series, car shows, art walks, and more.
