Northport's Main Street vicinity is renowned! It is a quaint, waterfront village that provides a heart to the surrounding Northport communities. Almost any time of year, there is something to do in Northport Village. With very active local Chamber and Historical Societies, Northport enjoys the benefit of involved citizens.

Centerport, just down the road a-piece from Northport, is predominantly residential. There are a couple of quaint storefront strips for quick shopping and the main 'Village' area would be in Greenlawn which is located south of Centerport on Broadway.

Both communities offer a wonderful lifestyle with boating and beaches as part of their allure. Centerport is located in the Harborfields school district and Northport is located within the Northport/East Northport school district. You can check out both school districts online at

Good luck with your decision!

Centerport is predominantly residential community. There are a couple of small retail strips in Centerport, but the village associated with Centerport is Greenlawn Village. Though not as large as Northport Main Street, it does nevertheless have an excellent library, several shops, dry cleaners, major drugstores, good restaurants and places to stop for coffee or to relax.

Together Centerport and Greenlawn combine to form the Harborfields area and are represented by the award winning school district of the same name.

For more information, please contact me as I am a very happy Centerport resident.

Centerport has a small strip of shops opposite the Crescent Club Golf Course. It consists of a pizza place, a stationary store, and i local watering hole. Northport has a "Downtown" similar in appearance to Sag Harbor. Check out the photos I have on my web site and click on "Neighborhoods". You will see the harbor of Centerport which is quite fine, but most people head over to Huntington's "Village" or Northport.
