How does Bradenton compare to other areas?

Asked by John, Tarpon Springs, FL Thu Feb 17, 2011

We are considering moving to the Tampa area and are evaluating several areas. We would like to purchase a home for up to $75,000 in cash. How does Bradenton compare to other area to the south in terms of community quality of life and the quality/availability of homes in this price range?

Sarasota-Bradenton wins world acclaim for its esteemed arts and cultural venues such as the Sarasota Opera, The Ballet, West Coast Symphony, Asolo Theater. The Sarasota Film Festival and Sarasota Wine Festival is always a sell-out. Bradenton and our Gulf Coast area enjoys a choice selection of Golf courses both public and private. Manatee River offers something for the entire family to enjoy in the Bradenton area. World-Class Fishing catching Snook, Red Fish, Grouper and Trophy size Tarpon. Enjoy Siesta Key Beach which always ranks in the Top 10 in the world is only 45 miniutes away.
For gifted Golf and Tennis prodigies, IMG Academy in Bradenton is a world class facility where children come from all over the world to learn and train. We are 1 1/2 hours to Disney and Universal Studios in Orlando, Greater Sarasota-Bradenton is a great place to live and work.

Hi John,
Bradenton is a little bit of a sleepy town - we don't have the hopping night life you will find in Tampa; however we have some great activities to offer. We have a growing downtown Saturday Farmer's Market, several amazing natural parks, and a solid cultural experience (arts, music and history). Another great feature is that Bradenton and the surrounding areas are very reasonable when it comes to property taxes. There are some very good choices in the under $75,000 price range, especially if you are open to looking at foreclosures and such that might just need a bit of elbow grease.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like additional information or a sampling of the homes you might be able to purchase. I am a full-time real estate professional, selling for 10 years, and have lived in Bradenton my entire life.
