There are tests you can purchase to do-it-yourself to find out. Just because a home isn't on a list doesn't mean there was never meth in it. Better to be safe than sorry.

These tests are supposed to show any trace of meth, including if meth was made or used in the home.

Here is a link to a site I found where meth residue test kits can be ordered:

Sorry - incomplete answer. There is not a required inspection although you can have an inspection done. A certified home inspector can answer your questions and let you know costs involved in the process.

We've used http://www.cdainspector.com with good results.

Again, hope this helps!

Google the address, see if there are any news stories of arrests, speak to the neighbors, speak to the local Police. There must be a reason that you are asking, follow that source.

Because the condition of the house would not be the most obvious clue?

Idaho has a property list - http://healthandwelfare.idaho.gov/Health/EnvironmentalHealth…

However, it's recent in it's inception so there aren't many properties on there yet. I would have your Buyer's Agent or yourself call the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare and find out how they advise to proceed to determine if the home you are interested in purchasing or renting has ever been deemed a meth home.

Hope this help!

I found this link here that might help you out. Now the deal is if its an REO, then the bank never lived in the property so they have no clue if it was used as a meth house.

heres the link
